2025 Spring Service Weekend Recap
The Spring Service and Ordeal Weekend took place on the weekend of 5/30/25-6/1/25 up at Forestburg Scout Reservation. 130 people attended the event, with 52 candidates and 77 members attending. Congratulations to all 52 candidates who completed their Ordeal in the rainy conditions, and another big congratulations to the 24 members of our lodge who sealed their membership in Na Tsi Hi by becoming Brotherhood members of the lodge. Another notable mention for this service weekend is the 7 members who sat their Vigil in the rain of Friday night, and were recognized with the Vigil Honor during the General Business Meeting (VIGIL PAGE).
Even with the unfortunate weather, our lodge was able to set up all canvas tents needed for Forestburg’s summer camp operations. All of the cots on the Billet side were set up, and a good percentage of cots were set up on the Dan Beard side as well. Every year I am impressed by how much we as a lodge are able to accomplish every spring up at FSR.
Late on Saturday afternoon, the lodge elected its 4 new officers for the 2025-26 year (OFFICERS PAGE). That evening, after the ordeal ceremony and dinner on Saturday, we had a fellowship event: a Stone Age Bash to fit the prehistoric theme. Some popular activities included Poetry for Neanderthals, a Pet Rock Contest, a Dinosaur Drawing Contest, and Rock Toss (cornhole).
I was very impressed and pleased with how this service weekend came out, and I look forward to seeing all the new members at the Fall Service Weekend this September.
Yours in Brotherhood,
Colin S.
