Leadership in council

  1. To Inspire members to provide primary leadership in support of troops and to assist in implementing adventurous program.
    1. Webelos to scout transition - Leadership via providing ceremonies to Cub Scouts/Boy Scouts year-round.
    2. Advertising/P.R. - Publish a where to go camping guide and camp pamphlets.
    3. Council web site - Lodge web site and Web committee and maintenance of reservation web sites.
  2. Improve Scoutreach
    1. Diversify Chartered Units - We are in the process of building Scoutreach committee, which will assist council’s efforts in area of Monmouth County that they specify.
  3. Strengthen Troop Representative program
    1. Committee is strong as a result of prior efforts.
    2. Focus on fine tuning representatives to carry out extra duties which swill increase effectiveness of leadership within the troop.
  4. Strengthen Lodge leadership, and assist the Council
    1. Form lodge strategic plan that follows the guidelines of the council’s Long Range Plan 2002-2006, and the national OA strategic plan 2003-2007.

Service in the council

  1. Increase participation in facilities and programs
    1. Advertising - Promote use of council camps through the Where to go Camping Guide, and camp pamphlets.
    2. Facilities - New docks for Forestburg, Adirondacks for J. Fred Billett camp.
    3. OA presence - Camp Chief position was installed in summer of 2003, more improvements expected in summer of 2004.
    4. Forestburg grounds improved by efforts of OA staff and members through service projects during the week.
  2. Promote local camp and rejuvenation of council camp interest
    1. OA presence - Camp Chief position installed in summer of 2003, more improvements expected in summer of 2004.
    2. Forestburg grounds improved by efforts of OA staff and members during service projects during the week.

Financial support

  1. Support Council with contributions through commitments and service projects
    1. In continuing our commitment of $5000 per year, to the council capital campaign.
    2. Contributions towards council camp (i.e. Lass lodge, bathroom and shower houses, and docks).
  2. Build endowment to support council
    1. Potential endowment contributions to be decided by lodge E-board through James E. West fellowships, and other appropriate programs.
