Dave Wolverton

Farewell to a Friend

Mr. David Wolverton (1962 -2007) was an Eagle Scout, Vigil Honor member, and Lodge Adviser for six years. David Wolverton was posthumously honored with the Founder’s Award at the 2008 Na Tsi Hi Winter Banquet. He joined Scouting as a boy and never left. He was a good friend, helping wherever and whomever he could and working tirelessly for the lodge. Dave was the key driving force behind setting up and running this website from it’s inception until his death. Dave had a keen interest in the history of Native Americans, Monmouth Council, Na Tsi Hi Lodge, and our two camps: Forestburg and Quail Hill. His research and collecting resulted in the compilation of Na Tsi Hi history on this website, a book about the history of Monmouth Council, and the founding of the New Jersey Scout Museum. Always aware of history and those who came before, Dave made his own contribution to Monmouth Council’s history and provided an outstanding legacy for those who follow him. He will be remembered not only as an amazing lodge adviser, but as an amazing person.
