About us

A section Conclave is a gathering of all lodges in a section. Conclave 2008 will be hosted by Yokahu Lodge 506, Puerto Rico Council. The conclave will be held at Camp Guajataka in Puerto Rico from August 6th to 11th in 2008.

"Gather the Clan" in Puerto Rico

August's Council of Cheifs (COC) meeting shed some more light on the upcoming 2008 NE-2A Conclave in Puerto Rico. Plans for the event, which will take place from Aug 6-11, 2008, indicate it will be the scouting event of the year and one not to be missed. Na Tsi Hi hopes to send 30 members and with a price tag in the vicinity of $500 it is indeed a bargain. That price by the way includes not only airfare and 3 days of conclave "fun in the sun" but also a great sightseeing tour of the Island itself. Highlights to include visits to the observatory at Arecibo , the worlds largest radar/radio telescope, excursions to the ancient forts of El Morro and San Cristobal along with trips

to El Yunque, the only tropical rain forest within the US national forest system. There may even be time for a trip or two into old San Juan with visits to several beaches, Camuy Caverns and the Caguana ceremonial grounds.

Hosting the conclave will be Puerto Rico's own Yokahu lodge # 506 with lodge contingents from the mainland US to be accommodated at the Puerto Rican Council's Camp Guajataka. A video of the camp was presented at the last COC meeting and got rave reviews. The camp itself sits on the shore of lake Guajataka and offers Swimming, snorkeling, scuba, canoeing, kayaking, sailing, a COPEs course, sports and fishing to name a few. All this within the setting of a tropical paradise. It's Jimmy Buffettville, all the way!!

Anyone interested should fill out the HOLD-A-PLACE request form found in the VOP or contact the council directly. A mere $50 deposit will secure you a spot in what is sure to be one of the most unforgettable experiences in your scouting career. Don't wait - DO IT TODAY!!

By the way family members are also invited to attend and more info concerning their accommodations in the city of Old San Juan will follow as plans develop. Be sure to mention the fact you would like to bring others on your form (names etc.)

As we receive more information about the airlines to be used we hope to set up a payment plan to make things easier for all. The final cutoff date will be February 1st after which registration will be closed. We are planning on thirty but all are welcome! Stay tuned to the VOP and our website for the latest information.
